Choosing a Mixer or Power Amplifier
This collection brings together mixers and power amplifiers: two pieces of equipment with distinct roles. A mixer combines and adjusts multiple audio sources, while a power amplifier provides the amplification required by compatible passive speakers. The products offered include the Peavey PV-6BT and PV-10BT mixers, as well as the Peavey IPR2-2000, IPR2-5000, and HK Audio EA600 amplifiers. The choice therefore depends first on the equipment already in your setup.
To choose a mixer, count the sources you need to connect simultaneously, then check each product page for the number and type of inputs, available outputs, and adjustment options. The Reloop RMX-22i is advertised with four inputs in its name. The Power Acoustics MX12 USB V2 and MX16 USB V2 are presented as USB mixers; however, check the exact functions of this connection and its compatibility with your equipment. If your use is focused on DJing, also see the DJ Mixers collection.
For a power amplifier, compare your speakers' specifications with those of the amplifier: permissible impedance, stated power according to the load, and connections. Do not infer the actual power from the figures in a product reference alone. Also check the cables required between the different devices; the PA Accessories collection may complement your search.
